Community Showcase: Christmas

Providing an additional platform to showcase your handcrafted work.

Every month, we share a theme. Makers from all over the country are invited to create new work or share photos of existing work that relates to the chosen theme of the month.

A member of our team will select their favourite piece and the story behind it. The maker of the chosen piece will win a £25.00 Turners Retreat voucher! Your work will also be the ‘Featured Piece of the Month’ that will be shared with our Mailing List subscribers by email and on our social media pages.

Want to feature your work on our website?

The theme for October is 'Christmas'.

This theme is for you to interpret in any way you like! You can use this month to create something new or submit something you've already made. Here's some suggestions to get your ideas flowing:

  • A piece showcasing Christmas colours (warm reds, greens and golds or colder blues and silvers etc)
  • Old-fashioned Christmas traditions, i.e. the nativity, oranges in stockings, kissing under mistletoe, tree decorations
  • Something inspired by Christmas food, i.e. turkey, mince pies, milk and cookies, Christmas pudding, gingerbread
  • Festive characters, such as Santa, elves, reindeer, Scrooge etc.

Your piece could be turned, burned, carved... there's lots of possibilities!
